Let's Get Serious.

Okay. I've finally decided to give this whole blog thing a serious attempt. I've written about many topics over the years and have gone back and forth as to what my blog should be all about. The original Mac's Mind covered my experience in Beijing, China during the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was a huge success (and by huge I mean my family and close friends read it). I tried blogging about fitness and health. But I'm not a personal trainer and enjoy pizza and beer far too much. I felt hypocritcal. So what do I write about? What will interest the people? What is the one thing in life I'm more passionate about than anything? School? No. Career? Nope. My love life? Umm not so much. Boston Red Sox baseball?? Now we're talking. The Sox are my one true love. While I am a Patriots, Celtics, Bruins fan as well, the Sox rise above the rest.

This blog is hereby dedicated to the Sox. I'm not affiliated with Major League Baseball, the Red Sox, or any official media outlet so I'm going to keep what I report light-hearted, fun, and based solely on my correct opinion. I encourage comments, debate, and lots of jokes.

So let's get started.

The 2011 season seems quite promising. Everyone is healing from last year's injuries and the Sox have acquired some of the League's most premier talent in A-Gon and Carl Crawford. The addition of Bobby Jenks in the pen will also have a tremendous impact.

Everyday I read updates from Spring Training down in Ft. Myers and find myself saying "I hope the Sox [fill in the blank] this year!" So here are a few things I'm hoping for this season:

  • I hope Papelbon doesn't suck.

  • I hope Jared Saltalawhatever...let's call him Salty...can actually morph himself into a younger version of Jason Varitek.

  • I hope Pedroia's foot is 100 percent healed.

  • I REALLY hope Pedroia cuts that atrocious comb-over (his wife actually likes it??)

  • I hope Big Papi realizes the season starts in April and not July.

  • I hope Beckett and Lackey can rebound and keep the weight off (they both look trimmer!)

  • I hope Christina Aguilera isn't asked to sing the National Anthem at the World Series.

I'm very excited for the season to commence and you should be too! The Red Sox are going to be wicked awesome this year. Or at least I hope so.

Go SOX.
